Life Drawing session at the Austin Visual Arts Center | 10.10.11 | Digital pencil and charcoal| Corel Painter 12 (laptop)
These are 15 minute gesture poses. Great studio location in the AVAA (Austin Visual Arts Association) building adjacent to the Spider House Cafe.
There is only a single accessible power outlet so will have to get there earlier (or bring an extension chord), and I wasn't fully charged going into the session, so I lost power after the 4th pose, DOH! It was the last pose of the evening anyway so no harm. Got a chance to wander around and observe other sketchers at work, which is also a wonderful way to learn. Thoroughly enjoyed the session. There are several Life Drawing groups in Austin so I look forward to attending various ones throughout the week. In addition to just working on the exquisite challenge of practicing life drawing, I'll also be focusing on developing and sharing a digital life drawing sketch toolset configuration including papers, brushes, etc. I'll be using both laptop and iPad2 to explore each.
